Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-20
Studyabroad.wiki (studyabroad.wiki) treats visitor privacy as foundational. The site is content-only; we do not sell personal data, run ad targeting, or operate any commercial user profiles.
1. What we collect
Principle: minimum necessary.
| When | What we collect | Why | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| You load any page | IP address, User-Agent, request path | Cloudflare default access logs — used for security filtering and aggregated traffic statistics | Retained by Cloudflare for 30 days |
You email [email protected] | The email address and message body you send | To reply to your message and keep a record of the exchange | Cleared within 180 days after the thread is resolved |
We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any other third-party behavioural-tracking scripts. We do publish aggregate traffic figures when helpful, derived from Cloudflare’s privacy-preserving Web Analytics (no cross-site identifiers).
2. Cookies
The site uses one client-side storage key: your dark/light theme preference, saved in your browser’s localStorage under the key theme. It never leaves your browser and is not uploaded anywhere.
3. Third-party links
Entries cite external official sources (UKVI, USCIS, Home Affairs, IRCC, QS, THE, etc.). Clicking a citation takes you off-site. Those destinations have their own privacy policies, over which Studyabroad.wiki has no control. Review their policies before you provide any information there.
4. Minors
The site addresses secondary-school, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral applicants. If you are under the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction (13 in the United States under COPPA; 16 in many EU member states under the GDPR), please use the site with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA / PIPL), you may be entitled to:
- request confirmation of whether we hold any email you sent,
- request deletion of that correspondence,
- object to our processing of your data, or
- lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of the above, email [email protected]. We will respond within 14 working days.
6. Updates
This policy may change to reflect legal and operational updates. Material changes are announced at the top of this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
